In recent years, the bee population has declined for various reasons, with the primary cause being a lack of knowledge on this issue. Many people view bees as pests, similar to mosquitoes, and their first instinct is to swat them away without realizing that bees may feel threatened by this action and may sting them. Bees typically do not sting unless they feel threatened, so stepping away is advisable if they exhibit such behavior. If people react negatively towards bees, they are less likely to feel inclined to assist them

Join the Hive: Bee A Volunteer

Problem 1:

Change people attitude towards them.

Problem 2:

Lack of knowledge, time, space and motivation.

Solution: I partnered with the New York Bee Sanctuary and implemented a volunteer program. This initiative serves as an incentive to motivate college students to educate themselves about bees and contribute to their conservation efforts. Participants can exchange their time for college credits.

Original Website

The original website was bland, boring, and full of text; to make the website more inviting, colors and illustrations were added for engagement and fun.

Revamped: Bee A Volunteer

The new approach not only tackles the bee population decline but also engages the younger generation in a meaningful way. Emails are aimed at spreading the word among college students.

Videos:

Videos are strategically placed on social media platforms for Gen Z college students to come across during their online activities.
